From the Old Barn to the Jewelry Studio: My Journey to Becoming a Jewelry Designer
A special place full of stories and handmade one-of-a-kind pieces. Welcome to my blog!
I'm Jacqueline, a passionate jewelry designer. For many years, I worked as a specialized nurse in intensive and anesthesia care – even here in the Lofoten Islands. When I moved here from Oslo many years ago, I knew right away: I had found my home.
The Lofoten Islands, with their wild, rugged beauty and unique atmosphere, have inspired and touched me from the very first moment. Here, I not only found a new home but also discovered my creative passion. What began as a hobby eventually became my profession: designing jewelry that captures the beauty and stories of this special landscape.
My jewelry is created in a very special place: an old barn that, over the past 100 years, has witnessed so many stories that I could never stop drawing inspiration from it.
A Building with a Soul: My Workshop and Shop
The old barn, where my workshop and small shop are now located, used to be a lively place. Animals once lived here, and later it became a place for dancing, car repairs, waffle and cinnamon bun sales, laughter, and tears. People from all over the world met here.
Today, the barn has a new purpose: it is a creative space where I craft jewelry with soul. When my customers enter the shop, they immediately sense that this is not just a place where jewelry is made – it's also a place where memories, stories, and emotions find their place.
The Lofoten Islands as Inspiration
The Lofoten Islands, with their majestic mountains and endless skies, are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. Under the highest mountain in the Lofoten, surrounded by rugged rocks, quiet valleys, and ever-changing light, I discover new ideas for my pieces every day.
My designs reflect this environment: clean lines reminiscent of the mountains, delicate details inspired by plants and stones, and a simple elegance that evokes the calm and power of this region. Each piece of jewelry tells a part of the Lofoten's story – and a piece of my own.
Handcrafted with Love and Dedication
Every piece of jewelry is created with loving craftsmanship. I mostly work with silver, which I select with great care. It is important to me to use sustainable materials, although I don't always use recycled silver.
My goal is to create jewelry that is timeless, durable, and special – pieces that not only look beautiful but also establish a connection with people and nature.
A Place of Encounter
My small shop, located right next to the workshop, is a place where people come together. Customers from all over the world visit my studio, browse through my collections, and let themselves be enchanted by the special atmosphere of the barn.
For me, it's a great joy to share my passion for jewelry with others – whether through the jewelry itself or the special encounters that take place here.
An Invitation to My World
I warmly invite you to visit my shop in the Lofoten Islands or take a look at my collections online. Perhaps you'll find a piece of jewelry that speaks to you – a piece of nature captured in silver, telling its own story.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to perhaps welcoming you soon to my little barn in the Lofoten Islands!
